i like to think of myself as a generous person. whenever my neighbours have an IT issue i'm always happy to help, and i don't expect any payment at all because i know having IT problems can really suck. but i can't help but feel used when the only times neighbours interact with me is when they need something

is it too much to ask to say hi and ask how i'm going without also asking me for a favour?

@belljar Anything you could knock on their door to ask for help with, even if you don't strictly need it? People will often feel better about the relationship if there's something they can do in return.

@bignose not really, we don't have a lot in common so it's hard to figure out some sort of reciprocity
